The fraud and corruption case against businessman Toshan Panday, former KZN police commissioner Mmamonnye Ngobeni and two former senior policemen have been postponed to next month.

They all appeared before the Durban Regional Court today on charges relating to the 2010 Fifa Soccer World cup police tenders valued at R47 million.

In September the Pietermaritzburg High Court dismissed Panday’s application to review the former National Director of Public Prosecution’s decision to re-instate the charges.

He wanted the NPA to drop the case.

Investigating Directorate spokesperson Sindisiwe Twala says the postponement will allow the NDPP sufficient time to consider all issues impacting on the authorisation of a racketeering certificate.
