Parliament has unanimously resolved to dismiss its secretary, Gengezi Mgidlana, who was on paid special leave since June 2017.
The National Assembly and the National Council of Provinces, at separate plenary sittings, decided that his employment contract be terminated with immediate effect.
This followed an investigation after several allegations were received, including of financial misconduct.
Mgidlana was eventually found guilty of seven of the thirteen charges.
