The Department of Health says it is ensuring that persons living with chronic diseases that were affected by the floods in KwaZulu-Natal, receive their medication.
Health minister Joe Phaahla says health workers are visiting affected areas to ensure that patients requiring chronic medication are assisted.
Phaahla says the water supply to some of the 66 affected facilities has also been restored.
Meanwhile, the National Health Infrastructure team has confirmed that approximately R190-million will be needed to restore most of the medical facilities.
Phaahla adds that says they are working with the department of Social Development in these efforts.
