Vodacom’s Please Call Me creator, Nkosana Makate, is still refusing to accept Vodacom’s payout for his invention.

Vodacom is offering to pay Makate R47 million for his invention, however, his legal team is arguing that the giant network has made more profit from his idea and wants a whooping R10 billion.

The matter has been going for years with both parties not reaching an agreement.

Makate says his Please call me invention has been extremely beneficial to the network and he wants to be paid for every call that is made after a Please call me was sent.

“All we are saying is that we need to arrrive at the fair value of this contract in context with the agreement that is in place and based on the accurate revenue that Please Call Me has generated. We are not putting numbers but we are basically putting the principles,” explains Makate.
