ANC Secretary General, Ace Magashule  has been temporarily suspended from the party.

Magashule was given 30 days by the ANC to voluntarily step aside in the beginning of April.

He was allegedly involved in Asbetsos tender corruption in the Free State when he was still premier of the province.

His suspension is in line with the party’s Nasrec policy of suspending all members who’ve been implicated in corruption until they have been proven innocent by the court of law.

Magashule is also prohibited from making public pronouncements.

Over the month of April, Magashule has consulted with ANC veterans and former leaders regarding his suspension including Jacob Zuma, Thabo mbheki, Kgalema Montlante and Matthews Phosa.

His suspension is effective from the 3rd May 2021 until the final outcome of his court proceedings
