PMB nurse stabbed to death allegedly by husband

KZN Health MEC, Sibongiseni Dhlomo, has condemned the stabbing of a nurse from Edendale Hospitali in Pietermaritzburg, allegedly by her husband.
Its alleged that on Friday, nurse Nontobeko Kheswa, left her Woodlands home with her husband in the family car, en-route to work but she never got there.
The department says her lifeless body, still in her white uniform, was discovered dumped in a nearby sugarcane field in the township, covered in blood.
According to her relatives, she had sustained multiple stab wounds all over her body, including on the neck.
It is alleged that on the same day, her murderer caught up with the late nurse’s male colleague and his brother on a road near the Edendale Mall.
He allegedly fired shots at them, hitting the male nurse on the arm while another bullet grazed his ear. His brother, who was driving, also sustained a gunshot wound.
Both had to receive medical treatment. Kheswa’s husband has since been arrested.
Dhlomo has describe the incident as a sad on and has pleaded with women not to stay in abusive relationships.
