Police Suspects in Ntumba Case Receive Bail

Written by on 26 March, 2021

The Johannesburg Magistrate’s Court has released the four police officials accused of the murder of Mthokozisi Ntumba on bail of R8000 each.

They are accused of murder, three of attempted murder and defeating the ends of justice following the killing of Ntumba during a fees protest in Johannesburg, earlier this month.

IPID’s affidavit revealed that Ntumba’s body had three bullet wounds and was shot and killed at close range.

Their bail conditions include that they should not contact or threaten witnesses and not apply for passports or any other travel documents.

Magistrate Sipho Sibanyoni says the court is satisfied that the accused will not interfere with the legal process.
