Political Analyst Unpacks War Of Words Between Mbalula And Ghordan

Political analyst Bheki Mngomezulu says ANC secretary-general Fikile Mbalula’s U-turn on the threats he made against Public Enterprises Minister, is a sign of how powerful Pravin Gordhan is.

Mbalula told delegates attending the ANC Women’s League conference in Johannesburg, that if Gordhan does not work quickly in fixing the problems faced by the country’s rail system he would be removed.

However, a few hours later, the ANC issued a statement qualifying Mbalula’s comments and saying Gordhan is safe in his job.

Mngomezulu says the sudden U-turn proves that public enterprises minister is untouchable.
