Political parties react to moving to lockdown level 3

Political parties have mixed reactions to the government’s decision to move the entire country down to level three lockdown as from the first of next month.
Under this level more sectors of the economy will be opened, alcohol will be sold for home consumption on certain days and hours while the sale of tobacco products and large gatherings remain prohibited.
Speaking to the SABC, ANC spokesperson Pule Mabe says every citizen must play their part in combating the spread of the coronavirus.

DA interim leader, John Steenhuisen, says while they welcome this move they must stress that it comes far too late for millions of South Africans who have already paid heavily for government’s hesitation.
Meanwhile, IFP president, Velenkosini Hlabisa, says moving to level three will now allow the unemployed to search for jobs.
