Political Economist, Jabulani Khanyile, says the rand’s recovery against the US Dollar will help the country to export more goods.

The rand briefly dipped below the R14 mark against the US Dollar, reaching levels not seen since 2019.

This comes after a soft start to the year when investors grappled with the third wave of COVID-19 infections in Europe, and high infection rates in the US.

Khanyile says the rand’s recovery will help businesses to trade more internationally.
