R350 Grants Applications Open

Applications for the COVID-19 Social Relief of Distress grant opens today, with the first payment expected to be made in the last week of August.

According to Social Development Minister Lindiwe Zulu R26.7-billion has been allocated for this grant, which will run for a period of eight months until March next year.

Only those who have no financial support from any source will qualify to receive this grant.

Meanwhile, more than 570-thousand grants that were approved remain uncollected.

These payments will be forfeited to the state if applicants haven’t collected it by 31 August.

Zulu says previous reciepients of the grant also need to reapply.
