An application to block the release of a report on racial profiling of doctors has been struck off the roll.
Section 59 Investigation panel chairperson, Advocate Tembeka Ngcukaitobi, says the country’s biggest medical aid schemes are guilty of unfair racial discrimination.
Ngcukaitobi has been briefing media on the report into racial profiling of doctors by medical aid companies.
The Panel was mandated to investigate whether there is racial discrimination by schemes against Black healthcare providers and whether Black providers were being treated unfairly.
The High court in Pretoria earlier struck off the court roll the application by the Government Employees Medical Scheme due to lack of urgency.
Ngcukaitobi says they have found that some of the current procedures followed by schemes to enforce their rights in terms of section 59 of the Act are unfair.
