The African National Congress’s integrity commission has confirmed that president Cyril Ramaphosa appeared before them over the Phala Phala farm theft.
The commission’s chairperson, George Mashamba, says they wanted Ramaphosa to explain how millions in foreign currency were stolen from his farm in Limpopo.
A week ago, the national office of the Presidency responded to the Public Protector, which submitted 31 questions on the matter to Ramaphosa.
The suspended Public Protector Busisiwe Mkhwebane threatened to subpoena him to testify on the alleged theft at his Phala Phala farm in Limpopo where millions in foreign currency were allegedly stolen in 2020.
Mashamba says the commission will present its report to the party’s national executive committee.
