Ramaphosa Does Not Remember…

ANC President Cyril Ramaphosa says he does not recall having to go through the minutes of previous meetings of the ANC deployment committee.

He is currently giving evidence in his capacity as the current ANC president and former deputy president of the party.

Ramaphosa will later testify in his capacity as the current president and former deputy president of the country.

Advocate Paul Pretorius is currently leading evidence on the ANC’s Deployment and accountability and discipline, around the time when Ramaphosa was still chairperson of party’s deployment committee.

Ramaphosa adds that the ruling party concedes, in its internal processes, that legally mandated processes must be followed when it comes to deployment.

The State Capture Commission Chairperson, Raymond Zondo, asked if should it not be that, if ANC or the deployment committee wants to influence the appointments they should be transparent.

Ramaphosa says the deployment committee knows it is not the appointing structure, but its the Cabinet that decides.
