Ramaphosa Outlines Economic Response to COVID-19 Pandemic

President Cyril Ramaphosa says South Africa is entering a new phase in the fight against the Coronavirus pandemic.

This as the first consignment of vaccines from the Serum Institute in India will arrive in the country today.

He delivered the keynote address at the annual virtual NEDLAC organised labour council today, which is being held under the theme: Economic Recovery, Collective Bargaining and Labour Reform.

Ramaphosa says alongside the vaccination programme, government will need to intensify its public health response to the virus.

Meanwhile, Ramaphosa says at the same time, the need to proceed with the vital work to rebuild the economy, recover the jobs that have been lost, and set the country on a new path of faster, more inclusive growth is necessary.
