President Cyril Ramaphosa says COVID-19 has severely damaged and contracted the country’s economy.

He has been speaking at the third South Africa Investment Conference in Johannesburg which aims to attract R1.2 trillion in investments.

Since 2018, the conference has secured over R650 billion in investments, as leaders from business, government, and the investment community forged relations and explored ways to reignite growth in South Africa.

The 2020 Investment Conference comes at a time when countries around the world continue to battle the COVID-19 pandemic with minimal funds to spare.

Ramaphosa says governments need to work hard and rebuild their economies.
