African National Congress president, Cyril Ramaphosa, says millions of young South Africans between the age of 18 and 35 are not in employment, education or training.

He has been speaking during the January 8th Declaration in Mongaug in the Free State. He says government must continue to prioritise the employment of young people.

Ramaphosa says that this year, government will expand all initiatives that provide work experience for young people, and offer support, finance and market opportunities.

He adds that government needs to link the provision of grants to pathways into work, self-employment, training and other forms of economic development.
