ANC President, Cyril Ramaphosa continues to testify at the state capture of inquiry today.
On his day two appearance, Ramaphosa has revealed that Parliament was too slow to act on the Gupta leaks.
He says the media played an important role in the investigation of the Gupta leaked emails saga and he further has commended the media for bringing the allegations to light.
Asked if agrees with a statement at the time by ANC Chairperson,Gwede Mantashe, that the allegations were racist, Ramaphosa says politicians don’t always believe media because they look at things through a particular lens.
On his statement, Ramaphosa says one of the earliest claims made within the formal structures of the ANC, of the possibility that members of the Gupta family may have had an improper role with respect to the functioning of the Executive, was made by ANC NEC member, Fikile Mbalula, at an NEC meeting in 2011.
He continues saying that at that time many individuals were blinded by their dirty dealings.
