Remembering Costa Titch

Although the two-time South African Hip Hop Awards recipient, former dancer turned rapper Costa Titch, real name Constantinos Tsobanoglou, has been reportedly died. Whats left is proof that, his music will always be remembered.

Costa Titch got his breakthrough after the release of his hit song “Activate”, which became popular after the time of its debut. Although he got into the entertainment scene very early, he started as a dancer in the New Age Steez dance crew, which had Phantom Steeze and Tumi Tladi as members.

The Nelspruit-born rapper is known for hits such as Nkalakatha, and more recently, Big Flexa, which has garnered over 45 million views on YouTube.

Costa Titch later came into the rap scene and has worked with rappers like AKA, Boity, Yanga Chief, J Molley, Cassper Nyovest and more. The late rapper made authentic music on a full-time basis. At his youngest age, he was the pioneer of African trap music and has influenced other artists in the genre. His rap beat was traditionally trap with very high-energy drum samples.

The hit-makers accolades include, scoring six nominations for the 2022 edition of the All-Africa Music Awards (AFRIM)

His hit single, ‘Big Flexa’ reaching its 4 times certified multi-platinum status, while his body of work, ‘Mr Big Flexa’ officially going gold. Costa has been the man of the moment, with a YouTube award for obtaining over 30 million views on the social media platform.

Costa Titch’s death comes as music fans are still mourning the passing of Kiernan “AKA” Forbes, who was also a friend of Titch.
