Restaurants demand answers from government

Restaurants are demanding an explanation from government after they were denied permission to serve food on their premises while places of worship have been allowed to reopen.
Level 3 regulations allow restaurant kitchens to operate however, for delivery and not sit-down meals.

Meanwhile calls for government to review its decision to keep some businesses closed or operating at less than minimal are mounting.
Restaurants want to open and return to business promising to take government to court for side-lining them when announcing regulations for level 3 lockdown.
The Restaurant Association of South Africa’s, Wendy Alberts, says the longer they remain closed, the more danger they face to shutting down for good and having hundreds lose their jobs.
She says restaurants can also follow the same guidelines as churches and others.
