Ukraine and Russia have agreed to hold talks at a venue near the Belarusian border this afternoon.

Ukrainian foreign minister Dmytro Kuleba has announced that his country will not give up a single inch of territory, adding that their government will not want to hear anything related to surrendering if Russia is only prepared to make such an offer.

Meanwhile, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson says Vladimir Putin’s order to put Russia’s nuclear deterrent forces on high alert is a distraction to Ukrainian resistance.

Putin says aggressive statements by the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO) leaders and economic sanctions against Moscow were behind the decision.

Johnson says in the last days the world has witnessed awe-inspiring displays of bravery and heroism from the Ukrainian people in response to those who seek to obliterate their freedom by force.
