South African Airways says it is extremely concerned by threats of industrial action by labour unions over its restructuring process.
The state owned airline has begun Section 189 consultations with labour as it estimates that over 900 employees might be retrenched as part of its turnaround strategy.
SAA’s interim chief financial official, Deon Fredericks, says the objective of the process is to secure the future of the national airline.
