SACP Calls for Mkhwebane to Step Down
Written by Mfundo on 21 December, 2020
The South African Communist Party are calling on public protector Busisiwe Mkhwebane to step down.
SACP’s General Secretary Blade Nzimande had been speaking at the party’s media briefing on Sunday, on the outcomes of its central committee meeting.
The Northern Gauteng High Court in Pretoria has set aside Mkhwebane’s report on former SARS deputy commissioner Ivan Pillay’s pension.
This follows after former Minister of Finance Pravin Gordhan applied to the court for the report to be reviewed and set aside on the basis that her conclusion on the matter was irrational.
The High Court has declared that Mkhwebane’s decision to exercise jurisdiction over the complaint was unlawful and invalid.

Meanwhile, Nzimande has slammed Chief Justice Mogoeng Mogoeng for his recent remarks on COVID-19 vaccines.
Mogoeng had made a prayer that the COVID-19 vaccine is a triple six mark sent to destroy humanity and said that if there was a vaccine that is made to corrupt the DNA of human kind, it should be destroyed immediately.
Nzimande said Mogoeng cannot be allowed to bring the integrity of COVID-19 vaccines into question.
