SADTU & AfriForum Challenge Exam Re-Write in Court

Teachers Union SADTU says Basic Education Minister, Angie Motshekga’s decision to have the leaked physical science and mathematics papers be re-written, must be set aside.

The Pretoria High court is hearing applications from SADTU, AfriForum and independent schools that seek to reverse the department’s decision.

Last week, Motshekga announced that matriculants across the country will next week sit again for the 2 papers.

SADTU’s legal representative Advocate Wisani Sibuyi says the minister wrongly allowed quality assurance entity Umalusi to sway her in ordering a rewrite.
