The South African Democratic Teachers Union (SADTU) has given the Office of the KZN Premier seven days to respond to it’s grievances and come up with solutions.

More than 100 members of the union joined by trade union federation COSATU, have picketed outside the provincial legislature and handed it’s memorandum of demands to the Premier Sihle Zikalala.

The union says there are challenges that have remained unsolved for years, including what it calls the department’s neglect of Grade R teachers.
