Business organisation Sakeliga says it has some concerns around the Housing Consumer Protection Bill, which has been published for public comment.

The bill regulates home builders and introduces enforcement tools.

It also creates an enabling environment for new entrants into the home building sector by introducing contractual provisions that ensure their sustainability in the market.

Sakeliga’s, Gerhard van Onselen, says they are not sure that the necessary consequences and cost of the proposed regulation have been considered broadly enough.
