Sakeliga urges the Pharmacy Council to withdraw instruction on NHI

Business organisation Sakeliga has requested that the South African Pharmacy Council withdraws an instruction to its members to pledge support to the National Health Insurance scheme.
Members of the council started receiving letters from Registrar and CEO, Amos Masango, instructing them to complete a form that consisted of the words, as a Pharmacy Professional, support NHI.
Sakeliga’s CEO, Piet le Roux, says the precedent set here poses grave dangers to the freedoms and rights of businesses and professionals in any industry.
