SANDF to be Deployed at Voting Stations

With only just 10 days to go before the local government elections, Police Minister Bheki Cele says voters should not worry about safety as police visibility will be present in all voting stations in the country.

Cele has been addressing the media during his visit to the home of the murdered EFF ward Councillor candidate Thulani Shangase, in Pietermaritzburg.

He says police will be working jointly with the members of the South African National Defence Force (SANDF) to ensure that the voting process across the country is not disturbed.

Cele says SANDF members will be visible at all voting stations.
