The South African Revenue Service (SARS) says its services are being affected by the ongoing wage strike.

SARS is dealing with the strike for the second time this year after the wage negotiations deadlocked and as the July Tax season started the Public Servants Association of South Africa (PSA)  and National Education, Health and Allied Workers’ Union (Nehawu) embarked on Industrial action.

SARS commissioner Edward Kieswetter says any disruption on their service is always irreversible regardless of the cause.

He says they’ve closed about 18 of their branches.
