Success in music is a combination of talent and sometimes luck, great artists all over the world once confessed. There is some truth in this but though luck helps, there is much more to the work that is put and who you do it with.
This is something 27-year-old Zimbabwean artist Charmaine Shamiso Mapimbiro, best known as “Sha Sha” alias Queen of Amapiano knows all too well. At her age, she is one of the renowned artists in Shonaland and one of several other Zimbabwean artists to have record breaking collaborations with big names outside Zimbabwe.
In 2020 she did ‘Tender Love’ a mind-blowing collaboration with South African record producer DJ Maphorisa and Kabza De Small.
When Sha Sha sings, her voice rivals great American pop stars. Her vocals are powerful and charismatic too, something she brought out very well in ‘Tender Love’. The song has garnered its first major million views on YouTube within its first month of release.
It has been over 3 years since Sha Sha released her hit single ‘Tender Love’ feat Dj Maphorisa and Kabza De Small. The single is extracted from her 2019 debut EP ‘Blossom’ of which lead to her winning a BET Award the following year for ‘Best New International Act’.
She has since received nominations from other respective award ceremonies such as the ‘South African Music Awards’, ‘African Entertainment Awards USA’, ‘MTV Africa Music Awards’ and much more.
The visuals have since reached 10 million Views on YouTube since its release on the 10th of January 2019.

The beats are a strong fusion of Zimbabwe-South Africa style, you couldn’t expect less with Dj Maphorisa in the mix. She is the first Zimbabwean artist to bring such an astonishing amount of success home.
