Shock Following Acting Chief’s Abduction

KwaZulu-Natal Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs (COGTA) MEC,  Sipho Hlomuka, has called for the release of Interim Chief Ngcobo, who was kidnapped from his home in eZingolweni, on Monday night.

Ibambabukhosi Ngcobo who leads the Qiniselani Manyuswa Traditional Council in eZingolweni, under the Ray Nkonyeni local municipality in the province’s south coast, was taken at gunpoint by unknown men.

Hlomuka has expressed his concerns about this incident, calling for an end to traditional wars.

He has also urged members of the community to come forward with any information that might assist in ensuring a safe return of Ibamba, and lead to the apprehension of those responsible for the kidnapping.
