South Africa’s Special Tribunal has confirmed that assets belonging to former Transnet chief executive for capital projects, Herbert Msagala, be forfeited to the state in an effort to recoup an estimated amount of 18.4 million rand.

Tribunal spokesperson Selby Makgotho says Msagala was allegedly involved in corruption acts between 2015 and 2016.

Makgotho says the assets include several bank accounts held in his name and those of his trusts, as well as vehicles and a farm.
