State of Disaster Extended

Written by on 11 March, 2021

Acting Minister in the Presidency, Khumbudzo Ntshavheni, says Cabinet has agreed to extend the national state of disaster, in response to the COVID-19 outbreak to the 15th of April this year.

Ntshavheni has been briefing the media on this week’s Cabinet meeting.

The latest extension marks a full year since the first state of disaster was introduced, with opposition parties criticising government for its ability to extend a state of disaster without any oversight.

The minister has also touched on the Bills approved by the country’s decision makers.

Among these is the Housing Consumer Protection Bill. It repeals the Housing Consumers Protection Measures Act of 1998.
