The Democratic Alliance is today holding an anti-corruption march and calling for action against government officials implicated in wrongdoing.
DA Leader John Steenhuisen who is leading the march says the recent Public Protector’s report on Eastern Cape Premier Oscar Mabuyane’s mismanagement of funds is too damning to ignore.
In the report, Mabuya is found to having received R1.1 million that was moved from the Mbizana Municipality that he was suppose to govern alongside MEC for Public Works, Babalo Madikizela.
The ANC is currently under the microscope following a string of allegations against some of its top officials, including now axed Mpumalanga MEC Mandla Msibi who faces two murder charges.
Steenhuisen says South Africans need to be rescued from such leaders.
