Steenhuisen Slams Shivambu’s Move to uMkhonto weSizwe as Opportunistic.

DA leader John Steenhuisen has labelled former EFF deputy president Floyd Shivambu’s decision to join the uMkhonto weSizwe (MK) Party as opportunistic.

Steenhuisen made these comments while engaging with business leaders in Tshwane yesterday.

He says Shivambu’s departure from the EFF is clear evidence that the party cannot be trusted to run any sphere of government.

He further says there is nothing principled about Shivambu’s departure but rather the use of the public post for their own gain and benefit, and the benefit of their own network.

Shivambu announced his withdrawal from the EFF last week, simultaneously revealing that he is joining the MK Party.
