The Supreme Court of Appeal in Bloemfontein is today expected to deliver its ruling on former president Jacob Zuma’s appeal application regarding his release on medical parole.
The granting of medical parole for Zuma was set aside by the North Gauteng High Court in December last year.
Zuma was released on medical parole after serving less than two months of a 15-month sentence for contempt of court.
AfriForum’s Reiner Duvenage says the organisation believes in equality before the law and therefore former presidents, regardless of their political connections, should receive the same treatment as ordinary citizens.
