Health Minister Zweli Mkhize says the arrival of the Johnson & Johnson vaccines as well as the commencement of the vaccination programme is a clear indication that government is determined to save the lives of all South Africans.

The department has begun vaccinating healthcare workers, with the first being in Khayelitsha in the Western Cape.

Mkhize and President Cyril Ramaphosa have also been vaccinated along with five other healthcare workers to launch the start of COVID-19 vaccine administration programme.
