TIGER WOODS IS BACK
Written by Brooklyn Masuku on 17 February, 2023
The famous golfer, (47) has returned to the ball after his 2021 car accident that left him with a leg injury.
Tiger played at the PGA Tour at the Genesis Invitational in Southern California last Thursday. He told EuroSport that he was still trying to remain calm and figure out what he was doing playing because he had not played for some time. Tiger did play with his son in a PNC Championship last December, despite him developing plantar fasciitis earlier in the month.
Tiger played alongside Justine Thomas (68) and Rory Mcllroy (67) and said; that it helped him because he was able to finish with three straight birdies to close off the first round with a two-under-par 69.
The 15- time major champion insisted that he was playing to win.
It was nice that I had this unbelievable pairing. Two great guys, two great friends. The people were obviously very supportive, they were just cheering all of us, which is great. And it just made this whole tournament better. I happened to hit some good shots finally and made a couple putts… it was a nice finish.

Although Tiger said he was in disbelief when he was playing but he believed that he can still play given the right golf course.
The atmosphere was fantastic. I probably should have appreciated the fans more than I did, but there was so much going on in my head, trying to get the ball in the correct spots and the correct feels, just because I haven’t done this in a while.

The tournament was cut short because of the darkness and a lot more players had not completed the first round.
