Tourism Expected To Grow In The Next Few Years

As the country continues to struggle for jobs and economic growth, the World Travel and Tourism Council says global tourism GDP is expected to grow by 5.8 percent per annum on average over the next ten years.

The news comes as cities, including EThekwini are already seeing a huge increase in international visitors.

In EThekwini, Mayor Mxolisi Kaunda says the sector has been greatly assisted by the opening of new routes in Durban.

Kaunda has thus called on tourism organisations to work with the City to promote Durban as the preferred destination for both local and international tourists.
