Parliament’s portfolio committee on transport chairperson, Mosebenzi Zwane, has expressed his concern over the lack of security at train stations.
Zwane has criticised the Passenger Railway Agency of South Africa, accusing it of dragging its feet in employing three-thousand security personnel.
This follows the termination of contracts with the previous service providers.
Zwane has told the public broadcaster that the delay further contributes to the ongoing vandalism and cable theft reported at train stations.
