Transport Department to Deploy 800 Officers to Tackle Festive Season Accidents.

The Department of Transport states that the country has at least 20 hotspot areas where numerous accidents occur.
It has been announced that the department will deploy 800 traffic officers to patrol these areas in a bid to prevent accidents during the festive season.
The department officially launched the festive season road safety campaign at the N1 Carousel in Limpopo.
Minister Barbara Creecy revealed that road crashes in South Africa cost the country’s economy over R205 billion in 2023, which translated into 2.74% of the GDP.
