Tributes Continue to Pour in for Nosicelo

Higher Education Deputy Minister, Buti Manamela, says the story of Nosicelo Mtebeni forces people to ask themselves the type of society they live in.

Manamela has been speaking at the memorial service of Mtebeni in East London in the Eastern Cape. Mtebeni was allegedly killed by her boyfriend and had her body chopped and packed the limbs in a suitcase.

Mtebeni was a final year law student at the University of Fort Hare .

He says woman have been robbed of their agency to exist and have been pushed to an edge.

Meanwhile, the University of Fort Hare Vice Chancellor Sakhela Buhlungu has called for partnerships in the fight against gender-based violence at the institution.
