Action SA has revealed former DA leader in the Eastern Cape, Athol Trollip, as a new member.
The party announced this during a media briefing in Gqeberha, in the Eastern Cape on Wednesday.
Trollip, who also served as DA federal chairperson in 2015 and soon after as mayor of Nelson Mandela Bay, left the DA party in 2019, shortly after leader Mmusi Maimane resigned.
Action SA leader Herman Mashaba says Trollip is part of a series of high-profile individuals joining the party after its successful 2021 campaign. He says they are deepening ActionSA’s leadership pool ahead of 2024.
Meanwhile, Trollip says politics in South Africa has turned into a circus and him joining Action SA they are aiming to change that.
