Negotiations have restarted between Anthony Joshua and WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury for September in the UK.

The talks began this week between Fury’s promoter, George Warren, and Joshua’s promoter, Eddie Hearn, revisiting a discussion from last fall that failed to deliver the long-anticipated showdown between the U.K.’s two top boxing stars.

Fury has been openly pressing to return to the ring, after his last contest took place back in December, when he dominated and stopped Derek Chisora in their trilogy fight. Joshua, after suffering back to back defeats at the hands of unified champion Oleksandr Usyk, picked up a twelve round unanimous decision win over Jermaine Franklin back in April.

Fury (33-1-1, 24 KO) wants to finalize the Joshua fight for September before fighting unified champion Oleksandr Usyk in December. With Fury’s recent poor track record of setting up fights, he’ll probably fail to negotiate either of those fights.
