EFF leader Julius Malema has accused President Cyril Ramaphosa of using the Covid 19 pandemic and restrictions to avoid standing before members of parliament and accounting for all decisions made.
He has been addressing media on the outcomes of the party’s Central Command Team meeting at the Winnie Mandela House in Johannesburg
Malema say they have written to speaker of the National Assembly, Nosiviwe Mapisa-Nqakula, to say that all their MP’s are available to physically attend the state of the nation address.
He says no member of the EFF will attend a virtual sitting of parliament
Malema says restrictions imposed by “Ramaphosa’s government” are not scientifically guided and EFF members will not be limited to Parliament.
Malema adds that former National Assembly Speaker Thandi Modise and current speaker Mapisa-Nqakula should take responsibility for the mysterious burning of parliament.
He says the suspect who is currently under police custody, Zandile Mafe, is a scapegoat further adding that the secretary of parliament should also take responsibility for failing to account on this matter.
