Britain has introduced restrictions on travel from South Africa over the spread of another new variant of coronavirus.
UK Health Secretary Matt Hancock saidthe step was taken following the discovery of two cases of the variant in Britain.
The patients had been in contact with people from South Africa.
Last week Health Minister Zweli Mkhize said that a new genetic mutation of the virus had been discovered and might be responsible for a recent surge of infections in South Africa.
Countries around the world have in recent days have closed their borders to both South Africa and Britain following the identification of the new, fast-spreading variants of the coronavirus.
Hancock said close contacts of those with the new variant and all those who have been in South Africa in the last fortnight, or were in close contact with someone who had, must quarantine.
