Minister of Transport Fikile Mbalula has raised concerns over a number of drivers who have not renewed their drivers licences.
Mbalula says a few of those South Africans who are renewing their driver’s licences end up failing to collect them.
Only 10 % of drivers who have been sent messages to confirm their licence cards are ready for collection, have come forward.
The minister says this means the country is facing a sizeable number of drivers who are on the roads without licences.
