Umnyango Ugxeka Eyokusocongwa Kwamakhosi

KwaZulu-Natal COGTA MEC Sipho Hlomuka has called upon the law enforcement agencies to double their efforts in apprehending those responsible for the recent spate of killings of Amakhosi in this province.

The call follows the recent murder of Inkosi Hlanganani Biyela who was the Chairperson of the King Cetshwayo Local House of Traditional Leaders.

Biyela was assassinated on Sunday night by unknown gunmen.

Last week, the Zondi Traditional Council’s Mzomuhle Zondi, under the Nkandla local municipality, was also killed by unknown gunmen at his home.

Provincial Cogta spokesperson Senzelwe Mzila says they are concerned about the killings that are threatening to destabilise the institution of traditional leadership.
