Umzinyathi District officially launched Prince Mangosuthu Ultra Marathon 2023

The Umzinyathi District Municipality officially launched the 2023 edition of the Prince Mangosuthu Ultra Marathon at the Coastlands Hotel and Convention Center in Durban on Wednesday.
The race is will be staged on 30 April 2023 in partnership with Biggarsburg Athletics club, who have been the organisers of the previous editions of the race. This years race will be a down run from Nquthu to Dundee and will cover various distances to accommodate the Marathon and recreational runners with the 52 KM, the newly added 21 KM as well as the 10 KM and 5 Km races.
The Prince Mangosuthu Ultra Marathon is hosted in honor of his Excellency the Traditional Prime Minister of the Zulu nation Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi, and is part of Umzinyathi District municipality’s commitment to keeping people active and promoting social Cohesion. The District Municipality has put forward R700 000 prize money purse for the winners on Race day. Entries are still open for runners to take part.
