United Nations Secretary-General, Antonio Guterres, says it’s time for the world to put a price on carbon pollution if it hopes to save the planet.
He was speaking during an address at Columbia University.
Guterres has called on country leaders to work towards eliminating carbon emissions to ensure sustainable economies.
He adds that for this to become a reality, the world would first need to face three imperatives.
Namely, achieving global neutrality within the next 30 years, the alignment of global finance and delivering on a promise to protect the world from climate impacts.
